Currently the CMR museum is not open yet as a public attraction, however visitors may inspect our work on Tuesday, Wednesdays and Saturdays when our volunteers are onsite.
The good news is that the extensive renovation of the Cooma Station rooms is nearly completed, which will allow us to assemble and display out artifacts ahead of its formal opening.
The station-based museum is due to open in the first half of 2021. The opening of the station museum open will be announced in the media and through this site plus our Facebook page: Cooma Monaro Railway Inc. | Facebook
Our next priority will be the repair of our track and the return to service of our railmotors. A great deal of good work has been done at Cooma Railway station over the last few years, and it won’t be long before we have a fully functioning heritage railway for visitors to enjoy.
CMR Fresh Produce Markets
Another opportunity for visiting the station is the commencement of the Fresh Produce Markets on 13 December, 2020, While visiting the markets our visitors can inspect the completed station rooms, which will include the Station Master’s Office, the Waiting Room and the Signal Box. The markets will then be held on the second Sunday of the month, 9am to 2pm, thereafter.
